My company, Daybreak Software, offers next generation solutions for a complete document capture and delivery platform which enables organizations to streamline their document management and paper-intensive processes. Our content capture and delivery solutions deliver high value, innovation and usability. Our eCapture Suite solution delivers a robust set of document capture and delivery capabilities in one integrated platform that provides direct integration with multiple content repositories.

Our goal is to get funding in order to customize our product(s) specifically for the EHR/EMR market. There are hundreds of thousands of Physicians poised to take advantage of the $19 Billion in Federal funding provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 to implement Health Information Technology (HIT) EHR/EMR systems. The Federal funding provides up to $44,000 per physician, over a 5 year period. Physicians whom do not adopt EHR/EMR systems by 2015 will face stiff penalties.

One of the keys to ensuring all of the EHR/EMR components work together is Document Capture, because it is the “on-ramp” to any system, interfacing with many points in the content management process – from data inputs through workflow processes, integration with the line of business systems (such as ERP or back-end operations systems) through storage and archival. Daybreak plans to develop EHR/EMR capture solutions and partner with existing EHR/EMR companies.

Many capture solutions offered by EHR/EMR vendors today consists of whatever software comes with the scanner and very few offer direct data extraction. With Daybreak’s eCapture software, we can greatly enhance their solution’s functionality and ease-of-use, as we provide automated data extraction directly to various index fields, with little or no manual intervention. Daybreak will also provide services and personnel EMR providers currently do not offer, such as back file conversion and web based archival. This will break down barriers, improve sales and increase adoption rates of our products.
