Description:
Lives of Style is a new TV show and more -- it is an interactive and integrated new media entertainment company featuring the “best of the best” in beauty, fashion, style, lifestyle, and fine living. The company is being patterned after Oprah's Harpo Productions.
The TV show has launched, first airing on Sunday May 2, 2010 in San Francisco, prime time (8pm) on a major channel (Ch.4). It will air again on June 6 in San Francisco and debut in LA later in June. We plan a national roll-out after that.
Lives of Style will be offered on five-platforms: television, radio, Internet, mobile and ultimately, print. Each of these five platforms operates synergistically, cross-promoting and driving traffic among the other venues for maximum audience penetration. In addition, the Internet and mobile platforms will bring a social networking functionality to the Lives of Style brand, and new mobile technology will be exploited to drive sales for featured sponsors.
Lives of Style is led by CEO Elisabeth Laurence, with over 20 years’ experience in news, entertainment, television and journalism, including nearly 100 television productions. In addition to her Lives of Style and style/fashion audience through the San Francisco Examiner, which garners 1,000,000 readers, she writes for examiner.com, which has over 16 million page views per month. She has appeared on Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC and Fox.
Lives of Style expects to be cash flow positive and reach a profitable run-rate within its first year on sales of $5 million. It will achieve $220 million in revenues in year 5, return 19x to investors over the first 5 years (including 4x in dividends), and generate a 49% IRR to investors (annual return over each of the first 5 years).
The company is seeking $750,000 to fund the production of 6 TV shows, which will be needed to launch the weekly show. Additional investment opportunities exist to fund the creation of the online merchandising capability.
